Here comes winter

It’s January and winter has finally come. The dogs know how cold it is outside and they know it’s best to stay indoors. Yes, I know, the cold weather comes late to us. It doesn’t even last that long. It may be cold now but it may also be warm and toasty the next few days.

My friends had started posting winter pictures in social media two or three months ago. Meanwhile, we remained in the low 70s Fahrenheit or even the low 80s Fahrenheit. I never even realized it until recently when we came back from our trip to New England. It was cold there and we were trying on some cozy-looking hoodies. Suddenly, it dawned on me that we will be going back to warmer weather and the cozy-looking hoodies will be hanging unused in the closet.

I feel better knowing that the cold weather here doesn’t last as long as the northern states. It doesn’t make my bones hurt less though from the cold. Last February, we went through one week of winter storm and it shut down everything! I hope it won’t be the same this year.
