Day Trip on the 4th of July

We woke up to a pleasant day. The sun came out with pastel colors and the temperature felt balmy at 80 F. Happy 4th of July, by the way.

It was a while back that we had friends stay over for a few days at the house. We were glad to have them and show them around town. One of the places was the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden. We liked it so much that we registered as members of the garden. Our membership allowed us to visit the garden two hours before official opening time.

The biggest advantage we saw to visiting the garden during members-only exclusive time was less people roaming around the garden. I also took photographs in a less hurried manner.

July 4th felt just like one of those days for an early morning visit. My wife’s cousin was in town and actually tried to visit the garden. We told them to postpone it for the next day.

There were several gardens that we had the option to visit. Jonsson Color Garden was the first garden in the options since it was immediately visible upon entering the arboretum. It was splashing with color as the garden was planted with the latest seasonal blooms.

The other gardens, like A Woman’s Garden and The Crape Myrtle Allee, were just as colorful and unique according to their design. It has always been satisfying to walk and admire the gardens. We ended up spending more time walking around than the allotted time for members-only. The garden was wonderful that day.
