I woke up early this morning to a gorgeous sunrise. The birds started chirping at the break of dawn. The cacophony of their sounds was in crescendo as the the sky got brighter. The sun added the blazing color to the sky as it rose higher in the horizon.

I didn’t even need sneakers. I put on my comfy sandals and headed out the door. The streets were bare and inviting. It was surprising how a change of scenery can do wonders. My feet felt light on the concrete. The dew-filled green vegetation was pleasing to the eyes.

Two miles went by fast. I was glistening with sweat but not hot. The cool breeze kept my body temperature comfortable. My knees didn’t feel achy.

Home was a welcome site. I cooled down while I sat on the balcony. I watched the world around me wake up as I held fast to my hot cocoa.
