The flight to Paris

The flight to Paris started with a short connecting flight to Newark Liberty International Airport EWR.

We packed our hand-carried bags carefully but it was ushered through airport security with haphazard precision. We had to be careful not to lose any of it. Once, a guy tried to walk away with one of our bags and we didn’t want it happening this time. This was just to get into pre-departure area. We know most people are familiar with the stress level associated with it.

The American Airlines pilot must had been in a hurry. We thought, this must be how a Formula 1 race car approaches a pit stop! We also thought, this must be how a fighter jet slams on a flight deck of an aircraft carrier in high wind! Anyway, we reached our first connecting flight destination at EWR with body parts still intact.

Our trans-Atlantic flight took us to our port of entry and connecting flight stopover, Oslo, Norway. Waiting in an airport lounge was really convenient. It mattered a lot compared to waiting in the cramped, dirty seats of the pre-departure area. This was a lesson learned when we were traveling through Taiwan. It was, in my opinion, the best airport lounge that we’ve been through so far. Our next flight destination was Paris, France.

  1. […] Arc de Triomphe was our first planned destination for the day. We had definitely reached Paris, France! All the road signs were in French! Gate 1 Travel, our travel agency, did a good job of assigning a punctual shuttle driver to pick us up at the airport and go directly to our hotel, B&B Hotel. The check in was efficient, the staff friendly, and the room, though slightly smaller than expected, was clean and well stocked. We needed to freshen up and be ready to go again after the long trip. 2. We visited Europe this year too and only travelled with carry-on. We didn’t want to risk our bags getting lost. That’s wild to hear that someone almost tried to walk away with your bags one time.
