Old port windmills

Old port windmills at Mykonos

The windmills were at the edge of the old port of Mykonos. We were on our fifth day of our travel to Greece. Mykonos town was still new to us and we wanted to know it more. We were up and walking towards the old port before the break of dawn to watch the town wake up. The old port was cool, windy, and deserted.

The windmills were at the edge of the old port to catch the wind. Once, when it was working and useful, it needed all the wind at the old port. Now, it sits waiting to be restored or repurposed.

See this photograph as a design for a tote bag.
