The courtyard of the Palace of Carlos V was sweeping. The colonnade that enclosed it was elegant. The circular design was harmonious with the open blue sky. It was impressive! We were in Alhambra in Granada, Spain! This was our tour while in Granada after exploring the sights of Seville, Spain.

The feeling of giddiness was tangible. It was something the about Alhambra. Maybe, it was because this place was so iconic. Maybe, it was because this place was the location of so many iconic movies. Or, maybe because this was the location of more recent movies that were popular with the younger generation.
If walls could talk then the wall were telling us a lot of story. Arabic scripts were on the walls. Different influences of Arabic scripts that were delivering messages and quotes. The scripts were integrated into the designs of the walls.
The Moorish architecture and design were more intricate inside the Alhambra. Geometric patterns, color contrasts, carved stucco, and mosaic tiles were on the floors, walls, and ceilings. The pace of the tour came to crawling upon arriving indoors. This was the part of the tour that we wanted to stay longer but had to move on forward.

We came to a meditative mood when we were looking at Patio de los Arrayanes. The patio served as a courtyard for the Comares Palace. The water was looking calm, soothing, and was reflecting everything surrounding it.

This was another place while touring Spain where we wanted to stay longer but had to leave with heavy hearts.
