A Glimpse Of The Christian Cordoba

Seeing the Christian Cordoba was through some of its old structures. Alcazar de los Reyes Cristianos was located southwest from the Mosque-Cathedral of Cordoba. Like most structures in Cordoba, the alcazar was not an exclusive Christian structure. It was a military fortress that was occupied by the Romans, the Visigoths, the Moors, then the Christians. The present day edifice was the result of additional construction.

We were hurriedly walking as there was very little time to explore the side of Christian Cordoba. The guided tour to the Mosque-Cathedral of Cordoba was about to start. We wanted to catch a glimpse of the other side of Cordoba. Entry was requiring for the purchase of tickets. We didn’t want to fall in line for the tickets. We caught a view of the Courtyard of the Women but definitely missed out on seeing the Hall of Mosaics, Courtyard of the Moriscos, the Reception Hall, and the Royal Baths of Doña Leonor.

The Jewish Quarter of Cordoba was right next to the alcazar. We skipped the line and decided that it was worth to explore the Jewish Quarter. The chance that we will be back in the near future was slim. We might as well explore and see whatever was in the Jewish Quarter.
