The Weekend Market at Davao Global Township

Somebody mentioned Davao Global Township. The new development on the once Davao Golf Club. It was planned to cover 22 hectares of land space with retail stores, condominiums, and corporate offices, to name a few. The Weekend Market, a weekend market for food, drinks, and entertainment, uses space at DGT and has been serving as a gathering point for nearby residents.

The makeshift long table was once again the meeting place for informal discussion. We just concluded a boisterous dinner and the sumptuous food became conducive for either some beer or coffee. Somehow, the food and drinks brought about a lively discussion. This brought about the topic of Davao Global Township. “Do you know what’s going on at DGT? Do you know that The Weekend Market is open tonight?”, those were the questions. “Let’s check it out!”, that was the next statement.

It was once again a warm evening with a very slight breeze stirring the treetops. It was yet early in the evening and there was no hint of sleep coming soon. The evenings here were unique because it was somehow darker compared to other well-lighted developed neighborhoods. The moon became brighter and the stars were clearer. We were headed to The Weekend Market at Davao Global Township. It was really a good night to be staying up.
