The flight to Italy

Our first visit to Europe was supposedly Italy. It was unfortunately disrupted by the pandemic. Our next chance to visit Europe was for Paris and Amsterdam. Finally, we were on the way to the airport for a flight to Venice with two stop-overs in between. It turned out to be a long and anxious flight.

Our travel plan was guided by Gate 1 Travel. We booked our flights and hotel accommodations through Gate 1 Travel.

United Airlines landed us promptly at Chicago O’Hare International Airport. We were happy because we made good time on this part of the journey. Happiness was immediately replaced by concern when we became confused with directions within the airport. Somehow, we ended up in a different terminal and had to backtrack to reach the correct gate.

Concern was then replaced by anxiety when we learned that our connecting flight with Lufthansa Airlines to Frankfurt, Germany was delayed. We figured that we will be missing our next connecting flight from Frankfurt, Germany to Venice, Italy as well. Luckily, Lufthansa Airlines was able to get us on board another flight and rebooked our connecting flight to Venice, Italy as well.

We arrived in Venice, Italy bone-tired but happy. We were ready to explore Venice.
