Stockyard station

Stockyard station at East Exchange Avenue, Fort Worth, Texas. Once an important regional cowtown for cattle drives in the late 1800s to early 1900s. Now, with the cattle drives no longer in existence, the showcasing of the cattle drive still happens here for people to see and feel. People were lining the sidewalk waiting for the cattle to make its appearance. Professional cowboys walk the length of the avenue in preparation for the longhorns. We ended up missing this event the last time that we were here. We didn’t know that this was a scheduled event.

The Texas longhorns made its appearance as it came walking down East Exchange Avenue of Stockyard station. Cowboys were on each side and behind the herd in guiding them down the road. I was feeling pretty sure that the scene came as close to representing how the cattle drive was back then. The cattle were walking by rather quickly and it was soon over. The cowboys were herding them back to the pen for the next cattle drive.
