Crawfish in the backyard

We had crawfish in the backyard. A crustacean that is ubiquitous and in demand especially during spring when the backyard opens up for gathering. I think most people like it steamed with potato and corn. There is a special seasoning that enhances its taste and aroma. I have never seen it prepared in any other way. I probably have to go and see how they do it in Louisiana to see the difference.

We had crawfish in the backyard. Everybody gathered around the table and had their fill. The gathering felt almost like the holiday gathering that we always do. It was heart warming. As I watched, I noticed a difference in the composition of those gathered around the table. The kids, now young adults, were gathered and interacting like adults. It felt like an accomplishment watching them.
